  • 2.5 cupall-purpose flour
  • 1 tspbaking soda
  • 0.5 tspsalt
  • 10 tbspbutter (1¼ sticks), softened
  • 2eggs
  • 0.75 cuppacked brown sugar
  • 0.75 cuppowdered sugar
  • 2 tspvanilla extract
  • 12 ozsemi-sweet chocolate chips (1 bag)
  1. 1Preheat oven to 330°F.
  2. 2Sift flour, baking soda, and salt into a large bowl and set aside.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, and powdered sugar. Cream with electric mixer until combined, scraping sides of bowl. Add eggs and mix until combined. Add vanilla. Gradually stir in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  4. 4Scoop 1 tablespoon dough for medium cookies, or 2 tablespoons for large, onto ungreased baking sheet.
  5. 5Bake until light golden: 10 to 12 minutes for medium, 12 to 14 minutes for large. Makes about 3 dozen medium or 18 large cookies.
