  • 1beef bouillon cube
  • 1 cupwarm water
  • 0.5 cupsoy sauce
  • 0.25 cupbrown sugar
  • 2cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbspsesame oil
  • 1.5 lbsbeef sirloin, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 2 tbspcornstarch
  • 2 lbsbroccoli florets, or to taste
  • 2 cupscooked jasmine rice, for serving
  • 1 tbspsesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  1. 1Crumble beef bouillon cube into warm water in a bowl and stir to dissolve. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and sesame oil and stir to combine.
  2. 2Put beef strips into a slow cooker crock. Pour sauce mixture over the beef.
  3. 3Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours (or on High for 4 hours).
  4. 4Spoon 2 tablespoons liquid from the slow cooker into a bowl. Whisk cornstarch into the liquid and stir the cornstarch mixture back into the slow cooker until evenly combined.
  5. 5Cook on High until the sauce thickens, about 30 minutes.
  6. 6Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring to a boil. Cook broccoli in covered steamer until tender, 2 to 6 minutes. Add broccoli to sauce in slow cooker and stir to coat.
  7. 7Ladle broccoli beef over portions of cooked jasmine rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes
